Before the use of GPS apps, finding unknown addresses in new cities was complicated. Similar to finding routes in a new city, doctors need to find the path inside bodies to insert needles without damaging bones, vessels and organs to perform biopsies for cancer diagnosis. Nevertheless, they can only use previous images from the anatomy and their imagination. InLine-Med combines a medical navigation software, machine learning algorithms and disposable guidance tools to bring a solution that works as GPS for needle procedures CT and MRI guided. The solution consists of a navigation app, a needle-guide and a flexible reference grid. By using this set, the radiologist is able to position needles or electrodes in their prior planned alignment and position in an easy and safe manner. Different from other companies, our solution does not require high investment prices since the company will charge only the disposable guidance tools and biopsy needles used in the intervention. Consequently, hospitals are able to use high technology navigation for a price of the sole disposables. The solution adapts completely to the already exciting protocol reducing complexity and risks. Furthermore, the GPS solution can be applied in different types of procedures and in different organs. Resulting in an efficient and cost-effective solution for all hospitals worldwide.
